Dr. Simone Presents at Michigan

This month, Dr. Simone was invited to present some of her research at the University of Michigan: “Context-induced Speech Modifications: Acoustics of Vowel-to-consonant Coarticulation and Lombard Speech.” In her presentation, she discussed two types of context-induced and naturally-occurring speech modifications. One concerned vowel-to-consonant coarticulation in three Australian languages, and the other, the increased intelligibility of speech produced in noise (so-called Lombard speech) in American English. She also presented the results of acoustic analyses and the perceptual analysis of Lombard speech.

Good work, Dr. Simone!
