Lady Catherine Cantor Cutiva, PhD


Image result for lady catherine cantor cutivaLady Catherine Cantor Cutiva joined V-BAL in 2015 through a NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship. A clinical SLP, she assists Dr. Hunter to quantify gender-specific voice accommodation strategies used in occupational settings. She also explores how these changes may change in native Spanish speakers and speakers of Spanish as a second language.

Dr. Cantor Cutiva studied Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá. Until 2007, she worked in Colombia as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist treating individuals and groups with communication disorders. In 2009, Dr. Cantor Cutiva got her first Master degree in Health and Safety at work at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. The Master thesis described the occurrence and work-related factors of voice disorders among college teachers. She started her trajectory as Philosophical Doctor candidate from August 2010 at the Department of Public Health of the Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam, Netherlands. During this time, she obtained her second Master, the Master of Health Sciences with Specialization Public Health, at the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences (Nihes). In 2014, she worked for one year as research fellow at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, at the Department of Energy (DENERG).
